HONORING OUR PAST, BUILDING OUR FUTURE From the beginning of his pastorate here in 2003, Fr. Mike has been an extraordinary spiritual shepherd. Before his retirement next June, it is his sincere desire to leave St. Joseph Parish both spiritually thriving and debt-free.
A successful debt elimination campaign would free up funds to develop and expand programs to better serve our large parish and wholeheartedly embrace the mission of Unleash the Gospel. To date, nearly $3.2 million has been pledged and or paid and less than $1M in debt remains. This campaign offers families an opportunity to express love and support for Fr. Mike and the parish by helping to retire the debt with gifts above and beyond weekly offerings, and by making St. Joseph Parish the main focus of your charitable giving over the next few years.
Every dollar pledged to this campaign will go directly toward reducing the debt. Pledges can be made for up to three-years or as a one-time gift. We thank God ahead of time for your generous response.
►FAQs about the Origin of the Debt ►FAQs about Pledges and Payments ►2019 Parish Financial Report A THREE-YEAR CAMPAIGN In honor of Fr. Mike’s 17 years of service and in preparation for his upcoming retirement, St. Joseph Parish has entered into a three-year campaign to retire our parish debt. It is Fr. Mike’s hope to leave a pastoral legacy of fiscal health for our parish by leading us in a bold move of stewardship to eliminate the debt and ensure blessings for our future.
The debt, similar to a mortgage, was incurred due to our vibrant parish/school expansion and renovation from 1997 to 2003. These improvements significantly enhanced our campus, allowing the St. Joseph family to grow to over 3,000 households today.
Currently, the parish pays $39,000 each month to service and pay down the debt. Due to be paid off in 2027, an early repayment will save the parish nearly $700,000 in interest. This would be a strong witness to our continual strivings to be better stewards of the gifts God has given us.
WHAT IS THE FUTURE VISION FOR A DEBT-FREE ST. JOSEPH PARISH?
Enhanced Faith Formation and Youth Ministry Departments.
Increased parish school enrollment through increased scholarships and technology enhancements.
Greater support for parish families through expanded counseling and enrichment programs.
Expanded adult formation programs.
Expanded service to our area’s poor, needy and homebound residents.
Enhanced worship services and celebrations of the sacraments.
Heightened maintenance at our parish and school campuses.
